All come fully equipped for bareboat charters without skipper or crew. The charterers need the appropriate qualifications, as they are responsible for the navigation and handling of the yacht.
To rent a bareboat one of your party must have a:
- Valid International Certificate of Competence (ASA and RYA )
- It is advisable for at least one of your crew members to also hold a RYA Competent Crew certificate or equivalent
- In case a second crew member does not have an official record of the above it is required by law to sign a responsible statement that he / she has experience in sailing and sailing in general and can assist the boat leader where necessary.
- The Greek Authorities require minimum one sailing license/certification and one experienced crew member as co-skipper for bare boat charters
You need to know
Yachtbook MCPY shall not be responsible if skipper certification is rejected by Port Authority and reserves the right to require that charterers hire a professional skipper, if their sailing skills and qualifications are deemed insufficient.
We advise you to send us your sailing licence at least 20 days before the date of your fare so that we can verify that your diploma is certified by the Greek local authorities.
You should also be aware that Yachtbook MCPY or its representative has the right to ask the charterer to prove the ability to operate the vessel in real conditions inside or outside the marina.
In case the charterer-captain, who holds the required licence, is not qualified to handle the ship safely, Yachtbook MCPY or its representative has the right to oblige the client to hire a professional skipper for the days he has the boat.
